How Open Door Outreach began.
We have worked in Drug Recovery for over 25 years. We had a door open in July 2012 at Hardin County Correctional Center when a letter was sent to the Teen Challenge office asking for a drug recovery class in jail. Five women signed the letter. We started a drug recovery class as a Teen Challenge facilitator in July 2012.
We have helped men and women into treatment facilities. Many leave jail with no place to go except back to the place they came from. We saw a great need for support after jail.
Thanks to Drs. Jim and Suzanne Thomas, we have Open Door Outreach, where we serve men, women, youth, and children. We serve them free meals, and we minister to the homeless with food.
To show anyone a better life, through living clean and sober in Jesus Christ — guiding them out of drug culture.
